Future-Focused Learning with LEGO bricks!

Posted by Bricks World Storemaster on

Let's build the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!

Enrich your child's learning through play with these STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) LEGO® building tips!

PRE-SCHOOL

Foster the love of learning in your little ones to set them up for their future. Spark their natural curiosity by learning...

Early Math & Science with DUPLO Ramps
Key things to learn:

  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Observation Skills
  • Force and Gravity
  • Cause and Effect
  • Counting & Measurement

Adjust the height of the ramps to show how it affects the distance the object travels. Try placing different objects to show that the shape of the object affects how it moves down a slope (slides/rolls).

This is a fun and engaging activity to develop your child's problem solving skills from a young age!

Try it at home with LEGO® DUPLO® 10882 Train Tracks10886 My First Car Creations, 10847 Number Train.

Social and Emotional Development with DUPLO Emotions

Key things to learn:

  • Social Skills
  • Language Skills
  • Story Telling

Point out the eye and mouth shape on the bricks to explain the difference in emotions. Ask your children to tell about a time when they were happy. Ask them to show how their faces look when they are happy. This helps them associate emotions with feelings they are familiar with.

Explain how understanding how someone is feeling allows them to respond accordingly. For example, when their friend is sad, they can give comfort by asking their friend what's wrong or simply by giving their friend a hug.

Additionally, you can also discuss that body language is another way to understand how someone is feeling. Create different stories for each emotion or character to engage in storytelling!

Try it at home with LEGO® DUPLO® 10861 My First Emotions and 10887 Creative Fun.
