LEGO® MINIFIGURE(S) OF THE MONTH August 2021 | Clone Force 99 a.k.a. The Bad Batch

The clone wars may have come to its conclusion but the next adventure has just begun.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch premiered on Disney+ this past Star Wars Day, May 4th. The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War.

Who are the Clone Force 99?

A unique squad of clones with genetic mutations that make them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. They take on daring mercenary missions whilst struggling to find a new purpose in the post-Clone War era.

Let's get to know each member and their unique LEGO Minifigure.

Clone Sergeant "Hunter" - The Leader

He possesses a talent for leadership, and could sense the electromagnetic fields given off by droids, which was considered an invaluable ability as Clone Force 99 was often sent on top secret and dangerous missions.

His LEGO Minifigure has a titanium metallic torso and legs. He has a printed headband as well as tattoos on the left side of his face. One expression is quietly determined, with a grim smile, and the other sees him gritting his teeth. He comes with both a black hair piece, with a centre parting, as well as a titanium metallic helmet, with markings resembling that of his tattoos. He comes armed with a dagger.

Tech - The Specialist

Tech is an expert slicer and problem-solver who prefers clever planning rather than raw force to defeat their enemies which is why they call him the unit's resident genius. He is also skilled in decryption, language skills, military tactics, and improvisation.

The highlight of his LEGO Minifigure is the unique helmet mold. In contrast to Hunter, his armour is printed in light-grey instead of gun-metal like the rest of the unit.

His head has a double sided print, showing his face with and without goggles. He also has a ‘widow’s peak’ hair piece. He wears a communications pack, with a good old fashioned neck bracket and antenna arrangement.

Wrecker - The Brawler

Wrecker is well-known for his muscles that give him brute strength, and although he had a dark sense of humor, he is deeply loyal to his fellow squadmates and others who win his respect.

To show off his bigger body build, his LEGO Minifigure's armour has pauldrons

Wrecker has the same the armour as Hunter, but with additional pauldrons. If his helmet looks familiar, it's because it's the same mold as LEGO Iron Man's helmets but with a different print. The pauldron and helmet are printed with the skull motif used in common on other members of the ‘Batch.

His face print features the injured eye, as well as extensive scarring on the left side of his face.

Echo - The Hacker

Echo's knowledge of proper military tactics and strategy provides valuable insight, while his socket-arm and cybernetic implants give him the unique ability to interact with computer systems.

His LEGO Minifigure's pale head is printed with silver connections, and a cybernetic implant. In the Bad Batch, Echo has a data probe in place of his right hand, and this is represented by printed arms and a grey hand.

Crosshair - The Marksman

Crosshair's exceptional vision is far superior to a standard clone's, which allows him to dispatch targets at extremely long distances. Crosshair is often tasked with serving as the team's lookout, a position from which he could cover his squad with his sniping skills.

His LEGO Minifigure comes dressed in black, with a black helmet. He has a Crosshair tattoo around his right eye. He has a printed breastplate, as well as a printed backpack. His torso is printed front and back, and his legs are printed in grey on front only. As a marksman, he comes armed with a rifle.

What does fate bring to these rag tag band of clones in a dangerous new galaxy?
