Dive into the Adventure: Introducing the LEGO^® Ideas Jaws (21350) Set

Excitement is rippling through the LEGO^® community with the recent launch of the LEGO^® Ideas Jaws (21350) set on August 3rd. Designed by Jonny Campbell, known as Diving Faces, this set brings the iconic 1975 movie "Jaws" directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Peter Benchley's 1974 novel, to life in LEGO form. 

The JAWS LEGO set features the Orca boat, complete with an intricate interior and a plethora of fishing equipment, including the famous yellow barrels. No JAWS set would be complete without the minifigures of Martin Brody, Matt Hooper, and Quint, as well as the star of the show, Bruce the Shark. 

Campbell's attention to detail shines through, having re-watched the film multiple times to ensure every aspect was captured at minifigure scale. His hard work paid off when the project reached the 10,000 supporter milestone in just eight months, advancing to the Review phase. In May 2023, LEGO officially approved his project for production. The set, consisting of 1,497 pieces, also includes an alternative diorama build depicting the shark's iconic attack scene, adding another layer of nostalgia for fans.

In a 10K club interview, Campbell shared insights into his creative process. He emphasized the challenges of building the boat's mast and designing the shark's mouth, which features a hinged jaw to replicate the animatronic shark from the movie. He also highlighted the use of Stud.io software for planning and rendering his model, showcasing his commitment to achieving perfection.

The LEGO Ideas Jaws diorama kit for adults is a must-have for Jaws fans, classic-film enthusiasts, and collectors of film memorabilia. The set not only includes the detailed Orca boat model but also a brick-built seawater base depicting the Jaws shark attacking the boat. Additionally, a printed tile with Chief Brody’s famous line, “You’re gonna need a bigger boat,” adds a nostalgic touch to this playful centerpiece.
