LEGO Minifigure of Month | 2020 Round-up

The year 2020 was unlike any other. Though there have been some challenges, LEGO sets have continued to keep us company and fill our days at home with colour and fun.

This year also marked the 10th year anniversary of Collectible LEGO Minifigures as well as the introduction of the unique LEGO Super Mario figure.

Let's take a look back at the LEGO Minifigure(s) of the Month picks from our team this year!

TINY DIAMOND

We started the year with the shiny Tiny Diamond from the Trolls World Tour movie. His unique transparent minifigure shows off his sass, style and hip-hop beats.

SERIES 20 MINIFIGURES

March introduced the latest collectible LEGO Minifigures which included the Tenth Anniversary Green Brick Suit Guy! He joins Brick Suit Guy (Red) and Brick Suit Girl (Blue) and commemorates the 10th anniversary with his silver plaque.

WONDER WOMAN GOLDEN EAGLE ARMOUR

It's unfortunate that we've had to wait longer to watch the latest Wonder Woman film. Luckily, we had her awesome LEGO Golden Eagle Armour. Asteria would definitely be proud of how Diana used it to not only save the world but also save her friend, Barbara's or Cheetah's, humanity.

MONKEY KING AND MONKIE KID

LEGO Monkie Kid has brought the 500-year old legend, Journey to the West to life in a modern format. The following TV series allowed young fans to join in Monkie Kid's adventure. Meet the Master and the Apprentice

CENTAURS

Our first Harry Potter pick of the year, was these unique Centaur minifigures. Intricately recreated in detail right down to the 'fur' where man meets horse, these talented beasts are a species in their own right.

PRINCESS IRON FAN

A second Journey to the West legend. Princess Iron Fan is one of the most popular as her beauty and power has been well-renowned for ages. Her traditional Asian Imperial Style attire along with her Iron Fan shows that she is a powerful enemy.

SUPER MARIO

He's fun, expressive and reactive! LEGO Super Mario has given us much joy this year as adults relive their childhood gaming experiences and even share it with their own children.

HARRY POTTER SERIES 2

The timeless story continues to be recreated and these new series of collectible LEGO Harry Potter minifigures allowed us to complete our collection.  Characters from the latter part of the story such as Bellatrix Lestrange and Griphook as well as accessories like the Half-Blood Prince's Potions Book join other beloved characters such as Moaning Myrtle, Fred and George Weasley, James and Lily Potter also make an appearance to the delight of Harry Potter fans.

1989 BATMAN CHARACTERS

Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film is truly a classic. The LEGO Batwing has given fans another treat along with its unique LEGO minifigures. We get two LEGO-only exclusives;  A rendition of The Joker in his mime costume and a Boombox goon. The better to complete re-enactments of thrilling Caped Crusader adventures.

NINJAGO DIGI COLE

We ended the year with a tribute to Kirby Morrow, the well-loved voice actor of LEGO Ninjago's Cole. Kirby's last LEGO NINJAGO project is the latest and upcoming season which explores the ninja's adventure into the Prime Empire. As with the series, the LEGO NINJAGO series also give us the ninja's minifigures all decked out as their game avatars.
